I’ll tell you what

God said and sat down on the universe

Opened up a beer

Put out the sun

And darkened the starlamps

By waving his knuckled bruised hands

All across the shit -stained

Eternal expanse of redundant

Poised and painted lightmap

I’ll tell you what,

If you give me a good reason not to shut this down

I’ll stay close I’ll stay behind I’ll watch everyone

I’ll listen to prayers I’ll be Santa Claus

And no more wars, no more murdered babies

And the oilslick ocean will go blue

And the skies will yield fruit

And all that’s glitter will be gold

And all that’s gold won’t yield war

And all that nasty humanity

Emanating from the poisoned apple

Won’t be an issue anymore.

I see what’s gone on here last couple of million years

And no one’s evolved

You’re all against each other

You’re doing shit in the name of

But it’s not mine

so I’m going to put out the lights

and stir the seas

and rustle up the wind

teach you fuckers some manners

about omniscience, omnipotence, and

humanity

this planet here, this rock, this palace

It’s a frail beaten, ravaged thing

Polluted with all you pulled out of it

To make things with which to destroy it

I taught you all that,

Provided you with the raw materials

And you fashioned weapons and havoc

You manufactured greed

Lie waste upon it, to fuck and frolic

Swam in the blood of the conquered

Glassed the burning horizons for more

and after you  turned what was green to dust

buried the skies and landfilled the canyons

And tied down the horizon with railroad tracks

And dotted the gunmetal skies with missile tracks

And sucked plutonium from Mother’s skin

and trampled each other

under booted foot in the name of

God sat down one day

and kicked off his sandals

exhaled and lay waste to everyone,

he made the flu a hammer to be dealt with

cracked his knuckles and burped

the roar was infinite

its tremor moved planets

and he said:

I’ll tell you what, look, see:

None of this shit matters.

Not even Me.
